Tannat & Petit Manseng – Wine University
October 19 @ 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm
$50
It’s our next installment of Wine University!
Explore two distinctive grape varietals, Tannat and Petit Manseng. We will explore their origins, not only in Virginia but also around the world, including Uruguay and the South of France.
Led by Keith Bevins, our resident Sommelier. This educational experience will examine what makes these varietals particularly well suited to Virginia’s growing conditions. Guests will taste a selection of Virginia wines, including wines from Effingham Manor and our sister properties, Vint Hill Craft Winery, and Pearmund Cellars. You will also taste international wines to compare regional differences in style, character, and expression.
This class will be fun, entertaining, and always educational.
This class offers an opportunity to deepen your understanding of these two varietals and discover how climate, terroir, and winemaking influence what ends up in your glass.
Two sessions held at 1:30PM and 3:30PM in our Barrel Room for a 60-minute session. As always, it’s 60 degrees in the barrel room, so dress to enjoy the wine in comfort. All wines tasted will be available at special pricing.
Limited seating available; RSVP today.
Guests will receive a small food-appropriate plate to accompany the wines. Not all dietary needs can be accommodated. Please inquire prior to purchasing your tickets by emailing jennifer@effinghammanor.com
