Do you allow dogs?

We love dogs, but they are not allowed at Effingham Manor for the general safety and comfort of everyone. Service animals are exempt.

Do you allow children?

Effingham Manor is adults-only. We ask that all guests be age 21 and over (this means no infants and children).

What are the options for wine tastings?

We offer both a self-guided selection of three wines as well as traditional wine tastings. The price for a self-guided tasting (2 oz. each) is $18 and for a traditional sampling of 6 wines (1 oz. each), the price is $18.

What holidays are you open or closed?

We are open every day except Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day.

Are picnic tables available? Can we reserve picnic tables?

Yes, picnic tables are available along with tables on our various porches. Walk-in guests are always welcome, with seating first come first served. For those who want to assure their favorite table is waiting for them can make reservations. Reservations are 11:30- 2:30 and 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. You can book a reservation by clicking the button:

Are buses and limousines allowed?

In most situations, yes. Vehicles larger than a 15-passenger vehicle are not allowed on the estate property. Please be aware that we do not provide tastings to groups arriving by KegBus or Boomerang Bus.

Additionally, be aware that regulations prohibit the parking of any vehicles on the shoulders of the road leading to the winery.

Do we get to keep the wine glasses?

Our wine glasses can be purchased for $3.00 each.

Do you have food for sale?

We do have an assortment of meats, cheeses and spreads available for purchase. On most weekends, we host a local food vendor.

Do you allow outside food?

Our guests are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy outside or purchase one of our charcuterie plates or a la carte offerings. We ask that “outside food” stays outside and no large coolers, crock pots, or chaffing dishes. When we have a food vendor on site, we encourage guests support a local business and purchase directly from them. Effingham reserves the right to check food bags. No outside alcohol is permitted on property.

Do you allow outside alcoholic beverages?

Virginia State Law strictly prohibits all off-site liquor, beer and wine on our property. If you have purchased wine at other Virginia wineries, we kindly ask that it remain in your vehicle. Please respect this law, as our license is in jeopardy with any violations.

Do you serve beer?

Pretty soon! We are currently in the permit process with Virginia ABC. Once Permitted, we will have beer from local breweries available on Draft.

What is your shipping policy?

We have a 3-bottle minimum per shipment. Our standard shipping rate is $20 for 3-6 bottles and $30 for 7-12 bottles. Please call the tasting room at 703-594-2300 to receive a quote on shipments of more than 12 bottles or to see if we are able to ship to you.

Do you offer any discounts?

Enjoy 10% off a purchase of 6-11 bottles and 20% off a purchase of 12 or more bottles.
Monday thru Friday, we offer 30% off a purchase of 12 or more bottles!
Wine Club Members get 20% off bottles every day, not just on pick-up days!

Is the winery wheelchair accessible?

The Manor House is not but the Winery building is. Please call 703-594-2300 and we will make sure arrangements are made to accommodate you.

Do you host weddings and private events?
