There are many ways to enjoy a day at Effingham Manor.
Our grounds are the perfect backdrop for a day of memory making. Start with wine tasting of current samplings, then move to a bottle of your favorite. Sit in the 260 old Manor House, our winery building, next to our Koi Pond, or anywhere that fits your fancy.
Shall, guests decide to bring a picnic, we do ask that outside food stays outdoors. Available to purchase on site is a menu of “nibbles and bites”, as well as charcuterie boxes that are offered on the weekends (while supplies last). On select weekends, we will have a rotation of local food vendors providing lunch offerings for sale. Check Upcoming Events or our social media for the lineup and please help support the local vendors on your visit.
Because of the age and history of the property,:
Effingham Manor is a 21 years and older facility. Persons under 21 years of age, regardless of age, are not permitted on the estate.
Please keep pets at home.
Virginia law prohibits any person from bringing any other alcohol onto the estate including, but not limited to, wine from another vineyard/winery, beer, liquor, champagne or wine coolers.
Charter buses, party buses and vehicles larger than a 15-passenger vehicle are not allowed on the estate.
Open Saturdays and Sundays, the Manor House is a way to enjoy wine and history in one sitting. Downstairs we offer tastings, samplings and sales by the flight, glass or bottle. Take your wine to one of the tables on the porches, or adjourn upstairs to one of the five parlor rooms, such as the Game room with its appointed poker table and board games, or the Princess room with couches and a view of our terraced gardens.
Built-in 1767, the Manor House is the center of the property. Inside you’ll find much of its original framework. The moldings throughout the house are original, as is all the wood on the second floor.
Each room seats up to 10 people and is available for reservation by clicking here. Rooms are open to guests if they are not reserved.
A spacious building, built in 2016, the winery building combines comfort and convenience with the elegance of the property.
The winery building is open every day, serving wine for our friends to enjoy at our fireplace, soft seats or barrel top tables. Reservations are available for tables inside by clicking here
The grounds are open each day. Picnic tables are spread throughout the property, along with firepits, koi pond, porches and terrace seating, and Adirondack chairs for those who want to enjoy the property in a lazy way. In the spring and summer, our outdoor bar offers tastings and sales. Tables can be reserved, and walk ins are always welcome.
