Blind Tastings – Judgment of Nokesville

May 24 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
$40

On May 24, 1976, The Judgment of Paris was held, pitting the best of California wines against the best of Bordeaux and Burgundy in a blind tasting. It was the moment that put California on the International wine map.

Now, exactly 50 years later, Effingham Manor is bringing you the Judgement of Nokesville.
Keith Bevins will lead this class. You’ll have the opportunity to blind-taste our Chardonnay, Viognier, Merlot, and Tannat against wines from the best in California and Europe. Confidently, we look forward to seeing where Effingham places.

Along with the tasting will be a lesson on the ‘method’ of wine tasting, as defined by the Court of Master Sommeliers of America and used in the Certified Sommelier program and by American Wine Society.

All the elements of wine tasting will be explored, including look, aroma, flavor, mouth feel, and finish. Ultimately, you will decide which wines are your favorite—and will be able to quantifiably explain why.

Two sessions held at 1pm and 3PM in our Barrel Room for a 60-minute session. As always, it’s 60 degrees in the barrel room, so dress to enjoy the wine in comfort. All wines tasted will be available at special pricing.

Limited seating available, RSVP today.

Guests will receive a small food-appropriate plate to accompany the wines. Not all dietary needs can be accommodated. Please inquire prior to purchasing your tickets by emailing jennifer@effinghammanor.com
